mogeko castle is actually kind of nostalgic for me, it was one of the first rpgmaker games i got super into and i really liked the artstyle. probably wouldn't be able to play it these days, games that revolve around bad endings stress me out, and also i don't like rape.
>I should keep playing it, but I can't stand dumb characters
huh, yonaka never really struck me as dumb, but then again, i don't really remember mogeko castle that much. that might also be by design, you can tell the creator of mogeko castle has a very particular sense of humor.
>Do you people in /v/ play RPG Maker Games?
i used to be way more into rpgmaker games, i think i hit my peak with them in 2018, but i think i've outgrown a lot of them now, because a lot of the old ones i used to enjoy aren't any fun to me anymore...
and every time i see a video essay on a new one, or someone tries to recommend me one, i always end up either not being interested in it (fear and hunger, for example, strikes me as babby's first ""dark""/horror game, and is also not fun at all) or i give it a try and it's not fun (see: fear and hunger, but also i tried out Black Souls because someone said it was admittedly vaguely similar to another game series i liked, and...it's dark souls but with the shitty rpgmaker active time battle system, so it's doubly not fun, though admittedly someone who's more into dark souls might get more out of that one. i'm starting to hate how popular souls games became, but that's another subject...)
i still do hold a reverence for yume nikki, though, and probably always will. that might be one of my favorite games ever, or at least it has one of my favorite atmospheres of any game.
